Spring is winding down, and most of spring's flowering trees have lost their petals - but not my flowering tree below. The flowers in my mosaic stepping stone should last for years.

| Image 1: Mosaic Tree #2 Stepping Stone |
In this mosaic, (tree # 2 in a series of stepping stones), I made branches weaving among the flowers, and I tucked in some exotic little birds. (How many can you find? (To find them all you need to look at the full stepping stone pictures, not just the one below.)
 |
| Image 2: Flowering Tree #2 Mosaic |
I think the branches makes the tree look large, and the result feels more artistic than my first tree.
 |
| Image 3: Flowering Tree #2 Mosaic |
Tree # 1 in the series (shown below) now reminds me of the K-Pop Demon hunter boy 'Mystery'. (If
you don't get that reference, don't worry, it's not important).
 |
| Image 4: Flowering Tree #1 Mosaic |
I created
my flowering tree # 2 mosaic after I realized how I could improve on
the stepping stone above, which I shared last year in this post.
 |
| Image 5: Flowering Tree Mosaic No. 2 |
I think the changes I made from mosaic tree #1 enhanced the design. I love the way the stepping stone looks, nestled among the glory of the snow flowers, which were in full bloom this year on April 10, 2026. I hope you like it!

Mosaic Notes:
Mosiac
work using broken china is sometimes called Pique Assiette, or
picassiette. It's my favorite style, and the one I work in the most.
I found a great getting started tutorial on creating mosaics
using china at here at Apple Street Cottage!
By the way, there are a lucky seven birds in the tree.
Click on the images to see them enlarged.

It's a great time to collect shells for future projects-

Have a fun week.
All the best.

Thanks for taking part in the "My Sunday Best" meme. Beautiful work. I know how tricky this is as I did a garden totem that featured pique assiette, next to two others I painted (see: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoxAPwMS1JB/?hl=en&img_index=1
ReplyDeleteI love your mosaic garden totem! An artist at my open studio class made one as well, but I haven't tried anything that big. Beautiful work at https://www.instagram.com/p/CoxAPwMS1JB/
DeleteSo beautiful! I love your tree with all it blossoms and birds :)
ReplyDeleteI love your creations. The trees are fantastic!

A fine June!❤️😘
Wow!! Outstanding! Your work is so beautiful. I found you through a party when you shared your egg. I had to pin it, it was so pretty. I was so excited when a new post showed up in my feed tonight. It was worth the wait.

What a beautiful work of art. I was attracted to It the minute I saw it. So lovely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Mosaic Trees! Outstanding! I found you through Joanne’s Talk About Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Featuring you at Wednesdays in the Studio!
ReplyDeleteSuch stunning mosaics Jeanne.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to be featuring your mosaic stepping stone at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather this week and pinning too.
What a STUNNING piece of art! Featuring when my link party opens!
ReplyDeleteGood job! The branches add contrast.
ReplyDeleteI would never step on either one of these stepping stones. Both are beautiful and yes, I like this years' a little better. I enjoyed hunting for the birds. I used to do (plastic) mosaic kits when I was a child. I enjoyed but the thought of working with glass scares me.
