Kaleidoscope Part 2 - Sumac in fall

Sumac plants are one of my favorite shrubs.  In fall, the leaves change to beautiful colors glowing like jewels against the green background.

Fall Sumac Foliage, Oct 16, 2013

I used the photo above to make the kaleidoscope images below.
The photo above can be saved as a free desktop background.  Last week I made Kaleidoscopes with spring photos, (see post here) this week I wanted to use more seasonally appropriate fall images.

Sumac 1 Kaleidoscope Art

The resulting Kaleidoscopes are far removed from the original image.

Sumac 2 Kaleidoscope

Even the colors seem to change, from the oranges and reds to pinks.

Sumac 3 Kaleidoscope

The next three rectangle images can also be saved and used as free desktop backgrounds.

Sumac 4 Kaleidoscope

Since I am also a quilter, the centers of the kaleidoscopes  intrigue me.

Sumac 5 Kaleidoscope Photo Art

The center of Sumac 5 reminds me of a feathered star.

Sumac 6 Kaleidoscope Photo Art

Some of the images have the feel of 1960's psychedelic art.  I hope you enjoyed the results of my latest batch of experiments.  Let me know what you think and which are your favorites.

Autumn Card Designs

Here are four of my favorite fall images.

I even made them into notes cards that I sell in my on-line etsy shop jselep.etsy.com

This is a collage of maple leaves with a brilliant sumac leaf over it.

A favorite jack-b-little pumpkin -

Orange Jack-B-Little pumpkins...

and a dewy fallen maple leaf.

Click here to view this card set for sale on Etsy. Each card is also available for individual sale.
