"A goal without a plan is just a wish" Mixed Media Art Quote |
Winston Churchhill Success Quote - Mixed Media |
Success is not final Quote |
Occasionally I take a photo of a multi-media work and send it to their phone when I think it will encourage them in a particular situation. (my own phone "Stickers")
Talent and Perseverance quote, misspelled! |
I don't know if they appreciate it, but words of wisdom from sources I respect shouldn't hurt. And I have the fun of creating art in the process as I try to help them.
The rest of this post documents progress and perseverance [spelled correctly this time!], for others on the art journey. I'm trying to encourage others* to say "I can become more talented if I practice" instead of saying "I can't do that".
(*AND my young adults, should they ever read this)

I love working mixed media techniques.
ReplyDeleteYour works are fabulous.
Greetings from Spain
I love your quotes and what a great connection idea for your kids. You're right about copying -- it's good practice and it gets it in your fingers and pretty soon it's all yours. I haven't done mixed media in a long time, focusing more on painting and needlefelting. I need to get back to it. I think about getting rid of my supplies but can't do it. Not yet! It's still in me too much!
ReplyDeletepainting and needle felting will probably help you become better calligraphy, so I encourage you to keep your supplies, and occasionally play with mixed media
DeleteBeautiful! I need to perfect my watercolor skills (just started in April) before I branch out, but mixed media looks fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful works of art. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteI posted several onto my facebook page (crediting your blog, of course) as I enjoy encouraging quotes. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is great. It has given me an idea. I want to create a notice board for my office / spare room. I am going to use this as a starting point. Thanks for Link.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad my post inspired you, and I encourage you to create something beautiful for your office. Mixed media can be very fun!
DeleteThese are beautiful! I hope I think of sharing something like that when my boys grow up!

Your mixed media art pieces are so pretty! I love mixed media. You're right about constantly practicing writing techniques. I took a calligraphy class many years ago and I wished I had kept on top of practicing because I have now forgotten everything I had learned. I'm visiting from Home and Garden Thursday ~ A Delightsome Life. If you're interested, I shared a "let it snow" farmhouse printable and a "let it snow" painted frame mat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork. Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ's!

ReplyDeleteGreat selection of quotes! Love your inspiring art!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! You're doing a great job. My handwriting has gotten worse as the years go by and as I write less and less by hand. I don't want that to happen.

This is such a lovely post. I made framed quotes for my children's playroom to inspire them every day. Thank you for linking up to #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time!
ReplyDeleteLooks fanstastic. Nice to see somebody actually doing all of this by hand, using real materials. I'm not sure that my 20 year old would appreciate the quotes either but like you say, it can't hurt to put these little positive voices in their ears #KCACOLS
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pictures and inspirational words. Particularly love the blue with the lace added. #KCACOLS

ReplyDeleteLove your card on "A Perfect Time to Craft" challenge and had to stop by. Your handwritten encouragements on vellum are excellent! I especially like the VanGough one. Also, I noticed a Green Bay cup on your crafting table. I'm from WI so always love seeing that logo in unexpected places on the web. Go Pack!
ReplyDeleteThere are some very inspirational quotes there, applicable to all and not just your young adults. Coupled with some lovely art work it has been a pleasure to see, thank you for sharing it with us at Not Just Cards.
