"Making Art" page in my Art Journal |
Small Mixed Media Art Journal Cover |
This journal is currently my favorite. What is fun about this creation is the small size (5 x 7 inches) and the ultimate flexibility of the pages. I can add, remove, and move pages around easily so there is no stress about which quote goes first, and what pages I want to use.
"Vision quote" page in my Art Journal |
"To be an Artist" page in my Art Journal |
I write quotes on post-its as I find them, and then transfer them to pages on artsy days with more time. The hand writing might be fast and primitive, but book has now become one I cherish because these quotes speak to me.
In future posts I plan on sharing pages and quotes, as I get the pages and lettering finished. If you have the time, let me know what you think, and if you know of any art journal specific blog parties.
(I created this journal in Stayce DeWid's "Art Anthology Mixed Media Class". Other papers were created in a class taught by Dyan Reaveley)

These pages are fantastic, Jeanne!
ReplyDeleteI love working with mixed media techniques for the creative freedom they give us.😉
I like how you've worked the textures.
A hug from Spain.
Love the work. I usually work in larger journals but may be considering the small journals after seeing yours. I do do small works when I do ATC's. Do you do anything with ATC's?
ReplyDeleteHello Michele - I have enjoyed seeing ATC's, but I haven't made or traded any yet.
ReplyDeletenice!
ReplyDelete+JeanneSelep Let's get you trading. We are creating a datbase of ATC folks to eventually begin swapping with my studio in Myrtle Beach. I'd love to send you your first ATC in hopes that I would inspire you to send one back to me. You can email me at coastalbohemian@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMichele - that would be great! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the mixed media pages you created, I am always a little timid when it comes to mixing media like this, but your pictures are inspiring! We are neighbors at #ImpartingGrace today!
ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful and so creative. I wish I was better at art. I love hand-lettering and have dabbled in that, but I'm not good at drawing at all. One of my sons loves to draw, though. :)
ReplyDeleteJeanne - just wanted to say thanks for stopping by #TuneInThursday today and linking up :) So happy to have you join me
😘😘😘
I'm a long time journaler, so I love this! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteLove, love love your journal! So creative and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you Jeanne. These are incredible journal pages, beautiful quotes and perfect for Yvonne's theme at Art Journal Journey. Smart to make the book so it can be taken apart like that.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous journal! WOW!
ReplyDeleteFantastic journal pages, the first one with the bright colours really appeals to me and so does the quote. It is a good idea to write down quotes, I keep mine in a note book.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pages with us at Art Journal Journey, they are super for this months theme. I hope you will join us again soon.
Yvonne
creative wonderful bookpages!
