Christmas Hutch Version 1

Selep Welsh dresser with Christmas arrangement
Welsh dresser with Christmas arrangement

I arranged my first Christmas china display in my hutch!  (I got the hutch in July 2010.)

A mug I got for the colors, not the shape

Have you ever suffered what something called "paralysis by analysis"?  I had so many options and little free time.  I have a collection of "solo" Christmas plates, (Snowman, angels, or Christmas colors) that I could have used.  I could have added garlands,  lights, stemware, ornaments, ornaments in glass jars, candlesticks.  I could have icicles dripping from behind the top rim.  You get the idea.

What happened after Thanksgiving?  As a start I put out the bright Christmas plates (Mitford by Hallmark) that I got for a song.  After two weeks or so, I added the milk glass and miscellaneous cups and saucers and mugs.  A day or two before Christmas, we decorated the Christmas tree.  And now?  Christmas has come and gone, and New Years Day is just around the corner.  Well, next year...

I love how you rearrange your hutch seasonally, with so many beautiful dishes!

I will get a picture of the large, floral platter you are referring to in my post: http://nancysdailydish.blogspot.com/2010/12/spode-copeland-duncan-rural-scenes.html

I will be listing it on Etsy soon and will try to remember to upload some pics for you. Feel free to send me your email address either through my blog or Etsy shop and I'll be sure and get you some nice photos.

Thank you!!!

Nancy

What a wonderful way to display all your Christmas dishes! That first mug was awesome! I know what you mean about having little time to play with all the other things that need to get done. Next year, I'm determined to start earlier!

Jeanne, your hutch looks so festive and beautiful. I've never seen those HM plates. They are so vibrant, and really brighten up the hutch. I think you made the perfect choice for Christmas decor in the hutch. You are so right - about the time I finish tweaking my Christmas decor, it's time to put it all back up! Thank you for linking to Favorite Things. Have a wonderful 2011! laurie
